The Porsche Centre Zug will be supporting TC Lucerne Lido Tennis Club for at least the next two years as a mobility and tournament partner.
«The Centre Court for Porsche enthusiasts – 20 minutes’ drive from here» – this is the message that is prominently displayed on one of the two tarpaulins on the main court at TC Lucerne Lido. And indeed: the distance between the Porsche Centre Zug in Rotkreuz and TC Lucerne Lido Tennis Club – situated at a beautiful spot by Lake Lucerne – is surprisingly short. This is something that Yves Becker-Fahr, Managing Director of the Porsche Centre Zug, also attaches great importance to: «Through this sponsorship we’re seeking to raise our profile in Lucerne: the Porsche Centre Zug is the nearest Porsche dealership for the people of Lucerne».
Urs Kamber, President of TC Lucerne Lido, is extremely pleased with the new partnership: “The Porsche Centre Zug initiated the contact and approached us with a clear vision – so we were absolutely sure we had a competent and goal-oriented partner on board.” The Porsche Centre Zug will participate in various activities and events as a sponsor – even though the 2020 season will be rather different due to the coronavirus crisis.
This is TC Lucerne Lido Tennis Club
The history of tennis in Lucerne is integrally linked to that of TC Lucerne Lido: it dates back to 1900 – the year in which TCL was founded, its first sporting home being three tennis courts next to Kursaal Lucerne. The move to the lido facility took place in 1957/58: since then the club has gone by the name of TC Lucerne Lido. The club is represented in virtually all active leagues up to national level. This is and remains its sporting goal, allowing effective and consistent work to be done – especially in promoting young talent.
